Airmail Service

Is there a regular airmail service from India or only registered?

I can't get a proper answer to this question from my local post office because my lack of Hindi and their lack of English. Therefore I always send my letters using registered airmail, but it would be better for both the receiver and me if there were some regular airmail service. So is there? Is it any slower than the registered?
