Is it hard to become a pilot for FedEx?

What does it take to become a pilot for FedEx? I know all the entry requirements from their websites but I'm pretty sure that those are just the minimal requirements. Is there anyone that has successfully became a pilot for FedEx that can give me some tips? And I'm talking about being a pilot for FedEx Express. Is there a height limit that they impose? Because I'm a 163cm short Asian guy.

  1. No harder than joining any other major airline unless you are talking about a FedEx feeder. The feeders fly Caravans and such and they are relatively easy to join but the pay is abysmal. Its a great way to build up flight time and experience but its not the 'real' FedEx. My advice is to befriend someone who flys for them, it definitely helps to have a recommendation from the inside. Its no guarantee, but in aviation there are no guarantees.
  2. hi there iit is just like applying for an pilot job with any other airline i supose just depends if they are looking for emplyies lol hope this is what you are looking for thanks.
  3. Everything good in life is going to be hard, but its if you really want it dont waist your time finding and finding and just do. I worked at FedEx at the airport unloading cargo and I've got to talk to some pilots and they have told me majority of the pilots are ex-military and have a 4year degree and a masters, i thought dang thats alot to become a FedEx pilot. But always start somewhere small and get a 4 year degree it will help. And yes FedEx and UPS pilots age faster than other pilots but they pay great! Just to let you know Im also trying to become a FedEx pilot, its my dream. And where I stand there is nothing impossible for GOD. If you beleive in GOD, GOD can make a way out of no way. And he has shown me that by giving me this job at FedEx so i can be able to talk to the pilots. But never doubt yourself and never doubt GOD! Trust me, GOD can do whatever he wants when ever he wants and how ever he wants, but put your trust in him and dreams in his hands and watch what he can do. GOD Bless you and dont give up! PS just to let you know you can go military or civilian to become a pilot
  4. FedEx is by far one of the hardest airlines to get hired at and for good reason... almost every airline pilot would love to work there. The pay and job stability are very good there. If you want to become a pilot for fedex there is only one single thing that really matters, and that is knowing pilots at fedex. Now, I don't just mean that you met a fedex pilot once in a jumpseat. I mean, you have to know fedex pilots that have not only flown professionally with you but who would also write letters of recommendation. One of them has to sponsor you, and a fedex pilot can only sponsor one candidate per year (at least, that's how it used to be) so it generally has to be a very good contact. You will also need to meet their minimums, which most likely includes at least 1000 PIC turbine time. I know several guys who went to FedEx. None of them were necessarily perfect pilots. They were average guys, with no more than a few thousands hours. They did, however, all have very good contacts there.
